The champagne is flowing at Ultravision CLPL, manufacturer and exporter of quality contact lenses. The company has just announced a global licensing agreement with US giant Bausch + Lomb. The financial terms are confidential, but it is safe to say that the deal is “very significant” for Ultravision.
Ultravision has developed a soft contact lens which is specially designed for patients with irregular shaped corneas or keratconus (a condition in which the cornea bulges outwards) and has sold the lens under the name Kerasoft®.
Sales of Kerasoft® contact lenses have been experiencing dramatic growth and caught the eye, so to speak, of Bausch + Lomb.
The method of making the Kerasoft® lens is patented and the mark has been registered in the major markets. Nash Matthews was involved at every step in this process. As an essential part of the deal, Ultravision has licensed its patents, and sold its trademark registrations, to Bausch + Lomb. We at Nash Matthews are absolutely delighted to have helped Ultravision achieve this highly profitable deal, and look forward to helping Ultravision obtain further success.
